The Zen of woodturning on a lathe cannot be described, you'll learn the safety and operation of a lathe and related tools, including direct hands-on work on wood blanks to make a great gift or just a fun project for yourself! You can choose to make a bud vase or a candle holder.

Hawk Talk with the Maryland School of Falconry

Based out of Reisterstown, Maryland, our master falconer Jordan Weinstein will give you an intro to hawks and the difference between owls, hawks, and falcons. Learn about the 4 species of hawks: Eastern Red Tail Hawk, Western Red Tail Hawk, Harris Hawk, and Augur Buzzard. Handling and a photo with the Harris Hawk included! We will offer a different class each month leading up to Bird Day at Manor Mill on May 11th.

Fly Tying for Beginners with Andrew Guarraia

Come and learn everything you need to know to tie your own flies! Each person takes home two proven winners for catching fish in our local waterways. You’ll learn from a 13-year-old young man who eats, sleeps, and breathes fishing. He has been tying flies for years, having developed many of his own patterns. Andrew will patiently teach you the proper use of all necessary tools and materials to give you what you need to start tying your own flies. Ages 10+
