In this hands-on intensive, you will learn the basics of Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding in this make-and-take class where you'll make your very own metal bird out of common kitchen utensils. Topics covered include welding safety, equipment, processes, and basic metallurgical properties. No experience necessary, and suitable for anyone age 12 and older. Natural fiber clothing (cotton, etc.) and close toed shoes (preferably leather) required. Course is held outdoors. In the event of inclement weather, an alternative date will be selected.

Woodworking 101

In this hands-on class with an experienced woodworking instructor, you will have a chance to work on a table saw, jointer, surface planer and other equipment safely and with close oversight. All students will walk away with a much better understanding of how to square up and shape a rough piece of lumber for future projects. This class is a prerequisite for Woodworking Projects class.
