| | | | | | Anthony Frijia and Skribe in Concert and Conversationfolk, AmericanaFriday, June 13 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Recently voted “Baltimore’s Best Local Artist” in the Baltimore Reader’s Poll, Anthony Frijia knows it’s these intimate conversations to which he owes all of his success as an artist. Fusing folk, blues, and country influences, Frijia’s lyrically-driven songwriting has captivated audiences in the Mid-Atlantic, and across the country as a touring artist, drawing comparisons to Bob Dylan, Tyler Childers, and John Mayer.
“Skribe plays an oil can called a canjo-zookie. It’s an eight-string guitar with a biting, blues-y rasp. Skribe’s got the voice (and the old-school Cadillac) to match. Accompanying himself on the suitcase-kick and hi-hat, Skribe’s “M.I.Y.” is a barn-burning roots number. ” – Ben Naddaff-Hafrey NPR

| | | | | Discovering Birch Trees Through Watercolor with Kas Rohm Friday, June 13 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Birch trees offer a unique and recognizable pattern that highlights the beautiful white bark of a birch tree. We will use masking fluid to preserve the pure white of our paper while we create a deep golden forest and shaded woodland in the background, and a dry-brush snow or earthy leaf-covered foreground. Once we remove the masking fluid, with script brushes and waterproof ink we can create the signature Birch tree markings, dark branches and arched scars that make these trees so much fun to paint. |
