Students will be introduced to skills including throwing, trimming, and glazing. Basic forms on the wheel include cups, bowls, small plates and vases. As students progress, more complex forms and techniques will be introduced. Student have access to the studio anytime the Mill is open!

Discovering Birch Trees Through Watercolor with Kas Rohm

Birch trees offer a unique and recognizable pattern that highlights the beautiful white bark of a birch tree. We will use masking fluid to preserve the pure white of our paper while we create a deep golden forest and shaded woodland in the background, and a dry-brush snow or earthy leaf-covered foreground. Once we remove the masking fluid, with script brushes and waterproof ink we can create the signature Birch tree markings, dark branches and arched scars that make these trees so much fun to paint.

Needle Felting Oriole Bird Ornaments Workshop with Loranimals

Intermediate Woodturning with Jim Prinkey: Bowl

This is an intermediate level class for those who have learned how to create their own handle, candlestick, or bud vase. Jim Prinkey will be teaching the intricacies of how to turn a bowl! You will be given the opportunity to use the skills you’ve learned in beginners classes but with a little more depth in using a lathe.

Parent/Child Welding Age 10+ with Michael Guarraia

Interested in some parent/child “bonding” time!? In this class, you and a child learn the fundamentals and safety associated with MIG welding, practice welding, and take home a welded bird sculpture that you collaboratively make using old silverware. Age 10 and up. Note: $225 per parent/child duo (limit two duos per class)

Dive into Coding with Arduino! Led by Michael Guarraia

Jumpstart your journey into electronics and coding with our Arduino course! Designed for beginners, you’ll learn essential programming skills, including inputs/outputs, loops, variables, and PWM, through hands-on challenges. By the end, you’ll confidently build your own interactive Arduino projects! You get to keep the Arduino and all sensors and wires, as well as have lifetime access to the custom learning modules.

We’ve officially announced our fall Manor Mill Playhouse production, Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie, adapted for the stage by Ken Ludwig!

This year we are running the production for TWO weekends in October. Auditions will be held in July.
