Shanna in a Dress

Shanna in a Dress is your quirky best friend who refuses to wear pants. She says what everyone has felt but no one else will say and you'll get an uncensored journey of clever humor and heartbreak, extreme candor, and a hefty side of entertainment at her shows. This witty wordsmith is known for taking you on an emotional roller coaster, sometimes within the same song. Think John Prine mixed with Ingrid Michaelson with a twist of Phoebe Buffay from Friends all wrapped up in a sweet voice accented by guitar, piano, and ukulele. Most recently, Shanna in a Dress was the winner of the Rocky Mountain Folks Fest Songwriting Contest and performed with a full band at the 2023 Rocky Mountain Folks Fest. In 2020 alone, Shanna was a winner in the Kerrville New Folk competition, winner of the Great River Folk Fest Song Competition, a finalist at Songwriter Serenade, and a Grassy Hill Emerging Artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival
Megan Burtt

Megan Burtt is a performing songwriter. She has played music on almost every continent, summited Mt. Kilimanjaro and survived a gluten free diet for a decade now. She and Oprah share the same enneagram number. She wishes she’d learned music in a Southern Gospel church and dreams of becoming an olive farmer in Spain. And, you never know, life is a long time.. and longing is a great source of inspiration. Megan is working on her latest full-length record with singles set to release in fall 2023. She is a member of the all red-head Americana band Gingerbomb (eat your heart out). Megan is the winner of the Kerrville, Rocky Mountain Folks Fest Songwriter and Denver Westword Songwriting Competitions and a finalist in the Mountain New Song, Telluride Bluegrass, Great American Song Contest and Songwriter Serenade Songwriting Competitions.

Welcome all levels to a dynamic and fun 2 hour songwriting workshop with award-winning performing songwriters Megan Burtt and Shanna In A Dress. Bring your songs, your ideas and your questions. Megan and Shanna will leave you with tips, tricks and a boatload of inspiration to write your stories into songs. Bring your songs if you have any. Please submit any burning questions ahead of time to megan@meganburtt.com to be sure they are covered in the workshop.
