Hear from Father Christmas and enjoy crafts in the Mill with Ms. Claus!
Ocean Quartet's Steve Winick, in the guise of Father Christmas, will tell stories of the characters Father Christmas and his cousin, Santa Claus, in a program that will delight both parents and kids. We'll delve into English and American history with side trips into German and Dutch traditions to see how the characters changed through the years. Steve's talk will feature readings of some classic Christmas stories and poems. We'll hear an adventure story from one of J.R.R. Tolkien's "Father Christmas Letters" (which he wrote to read to his children in the 1930s), and Clement Clark Moore's "A Visit from St. Nicholas," also known as "'Twas the Night Before Christmas." So bring your kids and enjoy a visit from Father Christmas! Followed by crafts with Ms. Claus and a few of her elves, including cookie decorating and ornament!
