Painted Screens - A Folk Art

View a presentation on the history of the painted screen in Baltimore, a slide show of historic and current screens, a how-to for a painted screen and the opportunity to paint either a screen you bring from home (please wash it before bringing it) or a miniature screen! This is a hands on, fun time.

Intro to Modern Brush Calligraphy with Brittany DeNovellis

Join Brittany from Novel Letter Studio for a relaxing afternoon of practicing the fundamentals of modern calligraphy, using a brush pen. This workshop will teach you the basic shapes you need to know to get started, and I'll show you how to combine those shapes into lowercase letters and words. We'll make a small final product together, and you'll take home a workbook and pens for your ongoing practice.

Beginner Welding: Bird

Influenced by the rich musical heritage of Appalachia, Luke and Madison Morris’ sound is rooted in the folk traditions they grew up in.

Also playing the same evening are The Montvales, a duo from Knoxville, Tennessee, who have captured the essence of melody and feel on their new bluegrass/folk single ‘Oh Louise’.
