BEGINNER WOODWORKING WORKSHOPS
Screech Owl Nesting Box
with Tom Parmelee
Join us for a fun and easy class assembling nesting boxes that are suitable for Screech Owls. You will be assembling pre-cut pieces that make up your nesting box as well as drilling the entry hole. You may build a box as an individual or as a partner project
*note that partners are will make 1 box
Wall Mounted Coat Rack
with Tom Parmelee
In this class you will build and finish your very own wooden coat rack. This class is great for beginners or for someone looking to learn about wall mounted furniture.
Make a Cutting Board
with Tom Parmelee
Students will learn about different species of woods to use for food safe projects, how to join pieces of wood together, and different oils for sealing them.
*We encourage you to take Woodworking 101 before signing up for this class to become comfortable with the tools and machinery, though it is not a requirement.

Students will delve into the fundamentals of craftmanship, focusing on the mastery of hand planes, chisels, hand saws, and various hand tool woodworking techniques.

Intro to Dovetails
Taught by Joe Merrey
In this class we will learn one of the most essential and daunting furniture joints- the dovetail. Using only a hand saw, chisel, and hand full of marking tools, learn how to make the beautiful and strong dovetail joint without machinery.
*Note: You must have previously taken intro to hand tools with Joe or be able to demonstrate that you are familiar with hand tool woodworking.
