Beginner Woodturning: Bud Vases & Candleholders

Make a bud vase or a candle holder on a lathe! Jim Prinkey, our talented instructor, will teach you to turn a beautiful piece of wood into a unique handmade object while learning the proper safety and operation of a lathe and related tools. 1 spot left!

Intro to Falconry

Based out of Reisterstown, Maryland, our master falconer will take you on an in-depth history on falconry including modern day falconry practices like husbandry, weight manage, equipment, hunting styles, quarry, and the benefits to birds and ecosystems. You will have the chance to observe, handle, and interact with several falcons.

Make a Silver Leaf Pendant
Sat 6/29 @ 10am

In this workshop, we will use Fine Silver metal clay to create a leaf pendant that can be worn as a necklace on a chain. We will be using a real leaf impressed into the silver. The pendant may be embellished with optional cubic zirconia. We will fire our work in a kiln during the lunch hour. After the break, we will polish and choose a patina to finish the pieces. 3 spots left!

Intro to Broom Making
Sat 6/29 @ 1pm

This workshop is an introduction to traditional broom making. Participants will use simple tools to make a Turkey Wing & Fan Whisk hand broom & discover a new appreciation for the decorative & functional styles of this Appalachian craft. Participants will learn about broom making, brush control, & the “V-Up” technique while creating these works of art.

Next Step Ukulele

If you've taken the Absolute Beginners Ukulele Class and are ready to take the next step on your Uke journey sign up for this class. In this one-day course we will build of the concepts you've learned in the beginner class and learn four new chords: D, Dm, Em and Bm.

Pre Req: Absolute Beginner or good basic working knowledge of the Ukulele (C, F, Am and G chords and know how to tune your instrument)

Parent & Child Welding

Interested in some parent/child "bonding" time!? In this class, you and a child learn the fundamentals and safety associated with MIG welding, practice welding, and take home a welded sculpture that you collaboratively make using old silverware. Age 10 and up.

Try-It Pottery Wheel Class

Come with your significant other/first date/best friend/family member...whomever! We'll have a crash course in making pottery on the wheel. Intro to Dovetail Joinery

In this class we will learn one of the most essential and daunting furniture joints- the dovetail. Using only a hand saw, chisel, and hand full of marking tools, learn how to make the beautiful and strong dovetail joint without machinery. 2 spots left!

Beginner Watercolor: Transparency Effects

One of the hardworking tools in a watercolorist’s toolbox is applying and then lifting wet paint off the paper to create a beautiful transparency effect. In this workshop, we’ll brush rich paint into flower petals and leaves and then gently mop up the paint to reveal amazing sheer pastels. We’ll embellish the details of our paintings with black waterproof ink.
